NIRVANA TRIBUTE FEB 19th
(like you’ve never heard)
First of all, if anyone’s in the same situation as me, you were completely overwhelmed, and caught of guard by the horrific disaster in Haiti. And I just haven’t had the money or a chance to help in anyway yet. So this show is our opportunity to use our art and music, to send a nice little chunk the way of “Doctors without Borders”, who do a lot of good out there. http://www.msf.ca/ Half the proceeds from this show will go to that cause.
Now to the music. So I grew up listening to a lot of rock, and in the 90’s how could you deny the fury, originality and music of Nirvana. I used to play and write songs that were edgy grunge-style rock like it was going out of style.
Well along the way a lot of other music hit me hard…..funk, jazz, hip-hop, jungle, house, reggae and more. So the band and I will be taking our favorite Nirvana songs and completely re-arranging them in the aforementioned styles. Basically, I’ve never heard of anyone doing anything quite like this, so you may not want to miss this.
The music we’ll be working with, and completely distorting for the dance floor, on FRIDAY FEBRUARY 19th is:
Lounge Act
Breed
Frances Farmer will have her revenge on Seattle
Lithium
Heart Shaped Box
Sliver
Smells Like Teen Spirit
Serve the Servants
Pennyroyal Tea
Something in the way
Come as you are
Rape me
In Bloom
On a Plain
Anyways, The band and I would really love to see you guys out, and share this awesome new music we’ve created. There will be 2 sets of different songs (one at 10pm and the other at 11:30). And we’ll be spinning great music between sets. By the way, the band will be a 9 piece:

Todd Pentney – Keys
Jon Challoner – Trumpet
Christian Overton – Trombone
Matt Fullbrook – Bass
Angela Wheeler – Vox
Kirsten Rea – Vox
